PBwiki is looking for a fulltime Support Master

PBwiki is one of the world's fastest-growing collaboration companies. Use PBwiki to create your own wiki as easily as a Peanut Butter sandwich. PBwiki is looking for someone to design and manage support strategy for a growing startup. If you have experience in technical support and online communities, we'd love to talk to you.

We're looking for someone with expertise in taking complicated information and making it simple. You'll be responsible for three main areas: managing our distributed support team, communicating our engineering priorities to the outside world, and taking what the outside world is saying about PBwiki and communicating it inwards.

On the support side -- people come to you naturally when they're angry, frustrated, or confused. You make them feel at ease, understand their problem, and help them. You may or may not have a deeply technical background, but you're great at explaining technology to people both in writing and on the phone. You're honest, clear, candid, a little outgoing, and can probably spot a typo or two in this job post. You have some experience leading an online forum, an email list, or supporting users at a high-traffic, high-visibility site. You can communicate with a style that hits that careful balance between being disarmingly personable, sincere, and professional. You will help organize and build out our part time support team, provide an authoritative voice for the company, lead premium support contracts, and monitor and respond to issues on our forums.

On the engineering liason side -- you provide light into what PBwiki is working on by helping users understand what we're working on and why we're making the development choices we are. You communicate with users and, more importantly, listen to what users are saying and report back to the team. You don't have to be highly technical, but some knowledge of HTML (or more) is a plus.

If you're looking for the opportunity to leapfrog beyond simple technical support and help manage support strategy for a rapidly growing startup, let us know.

About PBwiki

PBwiki hosts collaboration groups from the United Nations, Accenture, and Wired News. We also host tens of thousands of educators and regular users who want a place to store stuff. We're building a simple, secure web application that lets people collaborate and share information, and we would love to talk to you.

We have a total of 8 people in our San Bruno offices (right next door to SFO). We value intelligence over workplace experience, and clever independent projects over GPA. We'd much rather talk to someone who started a non-profit in college or led a group of a Presidential campaign interns than someone who got a 1600 on their SATs and a 4.0 in college but never ventured off the beaten path. Tell us that crazy thing that kept you up all weekend.

Full-time jobs include full benefits: health, vision, dental, first-dollar medical coverage, 401(k), gym membership, free espresso, snacks & food, Friday massages, and more. If you've been looking for the opportunity to stop doing day-to-day technical support and really put your Stanford degree to use by creating and managing support strategy, let us know.
